For the Sauce:

  • ¼ cup (60ml) low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili paste (optional, for spice)
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

For the Noodles:

  • 8 oz (225g) egg noodles or rice noodles
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, grated
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, julienned
  • 1 cup broccoli florets (or snap peas)

For Garnishing (Optional):

  • Sliced green onions
  • Toasted sesame seeds
  • Crushed peanuts
  • Extra sriracha

Instructions

1. Marinate the Beef

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced beef, soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil.
  2. Mix well and let it marinate for 10-15 minutes while prepping the other ingredients.

2. Cook the Noodles

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook noodles according to package instructions.
  2. Drain and toss with a little sesame oil to prevent sticking.

3. Prepare the Sticky Sauce

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sriracha (if using), and black pepper.
  2. Set aside for later.

4. Stir-Fry the Beef

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
  2. Add the marinated beef and sear for 2-3 minutes, until browned.
  3. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

5. Cook the Vegetables

  1. Add another 1 tablespoon of oil to the same pan.
  2. Stir-fry garlic, ginger, onion, bell pepper, and broccoli for 2-3 minutes, until slightly softened.

6. Combine Everything

  1. Return the cooked beef to the pan.
  2. Pour in the sticky sauce and stir until everything is evenly coated.
  3. Add the cooked noodles, tossing well to coat in the sauce.
  4. Cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

7. Serve & Enjoy!

  • Garnish with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, or crushed peanuts.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your sticky, flavorful noodles!

Notes

Slice the beef thinly – This helps it cook quickly and stay tender.
Use high heat – Stir-frying on high heat ensures a good sear and prevents soggy noodles.
Don’t overcook the noodles – Keep them slightly firm so they don’t become mushy when stir-fried.
