Description

These juicy cheeseburger sliders are easy to make, cheesy, and baked to golden perfection. Perfect for parties or family meals!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • 1 lb. ground beef (450 grams)

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • 12 slider buns

  • 6 slices cheddar cheese (or American cheese), halved

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

  • ¼ cup ketchup

  • ¼ cup dill pickle slices

For the buttery topping:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). While it heats up, heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it up with a spatula, until browned and cooked through. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Once the beef is fully cooked and well-seasoned, remove from heat and set it aside.

Next, take your slider buns and slice them in half horizontally if they are not pre-sliced. Place the bottom halves of the buns in a 9×13-inch baking dish or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread mayonnaise evenly across the bottom buns, then layer the cooked ground beef over them. Make sure to distribute the beef mixture evenly so each slider is loaded with juicy flavor.

Afterward, place halved slices of cheddar cheese over the beef, covering the entire surface. Follow by adding pickle slices over the cheese, then place the top halves of the buns on top to close each slider.

In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, sesame seeds, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley to create the savory topping. Use a pastry brush to spread this buttery mixture generously over the tops of the buns. It not only adds flavor but also helps achieve that beautiful golden-brown finish.

Bake the sliders in your preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden and slightly crisp. Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

There are a few common missteps you should steer clear of. One mistake is not seasoning the beef enough. Proper seasoning brings out the rich flavor in the meat. Another mistake is overcrowding the sliders in the baking dish, which can lead to uneven cooking. Also, avoid skimping on the butter topping—it enhances both taste and texture.
