Description

Jalapeno Popper Pinwheels are the perfect party snack. Combining creamy cheese, smoky bacon, and spicy jalapenos, these bite-sized snacks are easy to prepare and sure to impress. They’re perfect for any occasion, from game day to casual get-togethers.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese (regular or light cream cheese)
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon (or bacon bits)
  • 23 jalapeno peppers, chopped (seeds in for more heat, or remove them for less heat)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

For the Pinwheels:

  • 4 large tortillas (10-inch burrito-size tortillas)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: Combine cream cheese, cooked bacon, jalapenos, cheddar cheese, and garlic powder in a large bowl. Mix until well combined.
  2. Spread the Mixture onto Tortillas: Lay the tortillas flat and evenly spread the filling onto each tortilla, covering it from edge to edge.
  3. Roll the Tortillas: Starting from one edge, tightly roll up each tortilla to ensure the filling stays inside.
  4. Chill the Pinwheels: Cover the rolled tortillas with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  5. Slice and Serve: After chilling, slice the pinwheels into 1-inch thick pieces and arrange them on a serving platter.

Notes

  • Adjust the heat: For a milder version, remove the seeds from the jalapenos. For extra heat, leave the seeds in.
  • Add veggies: Feel free to add finely chopped onions, bell peppers, or spinach for extra flavor.
  • Make it cheesier: Add more cheese, like cream cheese or pepper jack, for a richer taste.
  • Use different tortillas: Swap the tortillas for flour, spinach, or gluten-free tortillas for a different flavor and texture.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. You can also freeze them for up to 2 months.
  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
