For the Chocolate Coating:
- 2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (for a smooth coating)
Optional Toppings:
- Crushed Butterfinger pieces
- White chocolate drizzle
- Chopped nuts
Instructions
1. Make the Butterfinger Mixture
- In a large bowl, combine peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, and crushed Butterfinger candy bars.
- Mix until well combined and a dough-like consistency forms.
2. Shape the Balls
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until firm.
3. Melt the Chocolate
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until smooth.
4. Coat the Butterfinger Balls
- Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled Butterfinger ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Let any excess chocolate drip off, then place back onto the parchment paper.
- While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with extra crushed Butterfinger pieces if desired.
5. Set & Serve
- Let the coated balls set at room temperature for 15 minutes or refrigerate for 10 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
- Enjoy your delicious homemade Butterfinger Balls!
Notes
- Use crunchy peanut butter for added texture.
- Swap Butterfingers for Reese’s Cups for a different flavor.
