Ingredients

Scale

For the Oreo “Dirt” Layers:

  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the Creamy Filling:

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed

For the Easter Decorations:

  • ½ cup shredded coconut (for “grass”)
  • Green food coloring
  • Easter-themed candies (Peeps marshmallow bunnies, candy eggs, jelly beans, chocolate carrots)
  • Gummy worms (optional, for a classic dirt cake look)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Oreo “Dirt”

  1. Crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
  2. In a bowl, mix crushed Oreos with melted butter until combined.
  3. Press half of the Oreo mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Make the Creamy Filling

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together cold milk and instant chocolate pudding mix until thickened (about 2 minutes).
  3. Fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture.
  4. Gently fold in whipped topping (Cool Whip) until combined.

3. Assemble the Dirt Cake

  1. Spread the cream filling mixture evenly over the Oreo crust.
  2. Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreos on top to resemble “dirt.”

4. Make the Easter “Grass” & Decorate

  1. In a small bowl, mix shredded coconut with a few drops of green food coloring until evenly coated.
  2. Sprinkle the green coconut “grass” over the top of the dirt cake.
  3. Arrange Peeps, candy eggs, chocolate carrots, and gummy worms on top for a festive Easter look!

5. Chill & Serve

  1. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
  2. Scoop into bowls and enjoy this adorable and delicious Easter treat!

Notes

Use a food processor for finely crushed Oreos – This makes the “dirt” look more realistic.
Chill before serving – This helps the flavors meld and the filling set properly.
Customize with different decorations – Add chocolate bunnies, marshmallow chicks, or edible flowers!
