Sweet and Comforting Cherry Vanilla Tea Latte Recipe

  • Author: Elisa
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 1 large or 2 small lattes 1x

Description

This Cherry Vanilla Tea Latte blends brewed tea with real cherry, warm vanilla, and creamy milk for a soothing sip you can serve hot or iced. It’s customizable (choose your tea and milk), easy to sweeten to taste, and gorgeous topped with whipped cream or a cherry drizzle—perfect for mornings, mid-day pick-me-ups, or cozy evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup brewed tea (black, green, or herbal)
  • 1/2 cup cherry juice or fresh cherries, pitted and blended into a purée
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 tsp honey or sugar (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based: almond, oat, soy, etc.)
  • Ice cubes (for iced version)
  • Optional garnish: whipped cream, a cherry on top, cinnamon, or cherry syrup

Instructions

  1. Brew Tea: Brew 1 cup of your chosen tea according to package directions (black: 3–5 min with boiling water; green: 2–3 min at ~80°C/175°F). Set aside.
  2. Warm Cherry Base: In a small saucepan, gently warm the cherry juice or purée. Stir in vanilla and honey/sugar until dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness.
  3. Combine: For hot latte, keep tea and cherry base warm; for iced, cool both to room temp.
  4. Froth Milk: Warm (for hot) or chill (for iced) the milk, then froth using a frother, whisk, or jar shake until lightly foamy.
  5. Assemble: Hot: Pour cherry base and tea into a mug, then top with frothed milk. Iced: Add ice to a tall glass, pour in cooled cherry base and tea, then top with chilled frothed milk.
  6. Garnish & Serve: Finish with whipped cream, a cherry, cinnamon, or a drizzle of cherry syrup if desired. Sip and enjoy.

Notes

  • Balance the sweetness: Start with 1 tsp sweetener and adjust—some cherry juices are quite sweet.
  • Silky texture: Strain fresh cherry purée if you prefer a smoother sip.
  • Caffeine-free option: Use rooibos, chamomile, or hibiscus.
  • Milk matters: Oat and almond froth well and add creaminess.
  • Make-ahead: Brew tea and prep the cherry-vanilla base up to 2 days ahead; store chilled. Froth milk just before serving.
